Warm and welcoming place. I had a cashew beef stir fry. My wife had a prawn dish. We shared a spring roll appetizer. The sauce for the spring roll was absolutely delicious! Both entrees were great. Large portions. We each took 1/2 home. Our waiter was super friendly and helpful. Great dining experience.

The. Best. Thai. Food. Get the egg plant - you must. The. House absolutely anything by closing your eyes and dropping your finger on the menu. You will be so happy. Love the dark, dramatic environment. Service is top shelf.

When planning our trip to Vashon Island, visiting May Kitchen & Bar was at the top of our list. We had heard countless recommendations for this Thai restaurant, and being big fans of Thai food ourselves, we knew we couldn't miss it. A quick tip: always try to get a reservation for this place! We underestimated how busy it would be this past weekend, but luckily we were able to secure a last-minute late-night reservation. We started with the Papia Taud, fried vegetable spring rolls served with a sweet pineapple dipping sauce. These were incredible and a great way to begin the meal. The sauce perfectly complemented the crispy spring rolls. I would absolutely order this again. For our entrees, we chose some of our favorite Thai dishes: the Pad See Iew with Prawns and the Kaow Phad Sap-Parod with Chicken. Both were incredibly flavorful and very filling. The prawns in the Pad See Iew were cooked to perfection and very large. To our pleasant surprise, our server brought us a complimentary order of their Gaeng Khiao Waan. This green curry was rich in flavor and featured Thai eggplant, which I had never had in curry before. This was such an incredibly kind gesture that truly made the meal even more special. Overall, this meal was spectacular and the service was fantastic. I'm so happy we got to try this place, and I already look forward to returning the next time I'm on Vashon Island!

This was such a great find while we were visiting Vashon Island! They don't open until 4pm for dinner. We ordered the fried watercress and shrimp for appetizers. The watercress was incredible. We also ordered the Tom Kha soup which was super creamy and flavorful. It was a different twist on the soup but still with the classic flavors. We also got the green curry with shrimp which was super tasty! Our server Suzy was the sweetest she surprised our mom with a delicious birthday dessert! Such an incredible experience!

Turns out, May was the only appropriate restaurant to enjoy my first Thai brunch. I mean outside of Thailand that is! And it was perfect! Super cozy brunch with lots of yummy menu items! The top for me was the son in law eggs! Crispy fried (what seemed like hard boiled) eggs with fresh cilantro and beautiful tamarind sauce. The mushroom and cheese omelet was stellar and everyone was raving about the khao Tom soup! I loved that they had lychee mimosas. The donuts were served with bright green pandan custard which was a beautiful aesthetic to complement the colors of the restaurant and as a bonus, tasted like fruity pebbles! The cherry on top was the sweet service. Don't sleep on their brunch folks!

We've been here several times and have never been disappointed. Everything we've ordered (and we've tried many dishes on the menu) has been fantastic and packed with flavor. And the service is wonderful as well. They do takeout, but order online in advance because the kitchen can only accommodate so many takeout orders a day.

Very good, almost great. We ordered old fashioned cocktails, papia taud (spring rolls), thom ka soup, and red curry with prawns. The food was excellent, really nice flavors and nuances. Everything was amazing. My only desire (food-wise) was to have a bit more spice (or the option, none was given when we ordered). The drinks were disappointing. Our old fashioned drinks were very watery and lacked the whisky burn and flavor profiles one expects from a decent old fashion. Each cocktail had a huge brick of ice---so big I could barley sip the cocktail without the huge ice brick blocking the alcohol from reaching my lips. I wish the cocktails had the nuance and subtle complexity that was given to the food---that would have bumped May Kitchen and Bar to a 5 star review. I would definitely go back for the food. The ambiance was lovely too, it's a really nice space.
